"Laetitia Ky ?" A Woman Of Many Talents.

She is a remarkable artist and fashion designer who has gained international recognition for her innovative work with hair sculpture and fashion.

Born in 1996 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, she grew up in a family that nurtured her love for art and design. Despite her parents' divorce at a young age, Laetitia pursued her passion for the arts and became a self-taught seamstress, launching her career in the fashion industry.

After experiencing hair loss at the age of 16, Laetitia became fascinated with the natural hair movement, which led her to explore African hairstyles and techniques. Inspired by the pre-colonial African women she saw in a photo album, she began creating intricate hair sculptures using wire, thread, and her own dreadlocks, lengthened with weaves. These sculptures not only showcased her creative talent but also allowed her to express her political views and promote cultural appreciation.

In 2017, Laetitia hosted her first "Ky Braids" workshop to share her art form with others. Her work gained widespread attention when she collaborated with musician Di'Ja, creating a headpiece made of wax cloth inspired by the hair of Himba women. This exposure led to her being featured in international magazines and fashion shows, further elevating her status in the art and fashion world.

Laetitia's entrepreneurial spirit led her to launch her own fashion brand, Kystroy, in 2018.

The brand promotes inclusivity and body positivity, reflecting Laetitia's commitment to empowering women of all shapes and sizes. Her unique approach to fashion has since been showcased at prestigious events such as the Venice Biennale and the LIS10 Gallery in Arezzo, where she presented her first solo exhibition, "Empow'Hair."

Represented by Lis10 Gallery in Arezzo and Paris, Laetitia Ky continues to captivate audiences with her distinctive style and thought-provoking art. Her "Ky Concept" showcases her ability to use her hair as a canvas for creativity and expression, and her commitment to promoting African culture and heritage has made her an influential figure in the art world.

Laetitia Ky's multifaceted talent, passion, and dedication to her craft make her a true inspiration and a force to be reckoned with in the international art and fashion scene.
